 GDLT handle
hey guys just got me a used 16hp GDLT and got her all mounted up on the transom today and took her out for a float test (no gas tank yet) and ran into a little problem. when im standing up in the boat and have the motor with the cav plate about an inch under water, i have to bend at the knees to hold onto the handle. anyone else have this problem and bent their handle up a little bit? thanks yall

 Re: GDLT handle
I had the same problem on mine i took the old handle off and made a new one out of 3/4 iron gas pipe i used a pipe bender to shape it the way i wanted and put some support brackets on it i will take a pic and post it when i get a chance btw it came out looking like a z it works 1000 times better then the old one though

 Re: GDLT handle
here is a pic before i put the braces on it i ran a piece of flat bar about 3/4 wide from the throttle down to the bottom bend and two more from there to the mount plate but i hope this just gives you an idea i will try to get a better pic of the finished product for ya
