Post subject:  Bog Hog Mud Motors ?

im in the process of building a mud motor and ive been looking for the shaft evrybody ive called won even talk to me unless i have a go devil or a mud buddy etc so i found bog hog and they will ship me the shfat and the rest of the parts i need im just curious if any of you guys have had any expierience with them or have heard anything about them... anything good or bad will help

I thought they were out of buisness....

You can buy the shaft and have a machine shop thread and keyway it.

i had heard that but spoke to the owner today and he said they still have all the parts and everything and the shaft is only 120 so it doesnt seem like a bad deal... but if everybody id thinking theyre outta business that doesnt say much i suppose

when i built mine i bought a 6 foot 3/4 rod for 20 dollars and a 3/4 die off ebay for 14 dollars and took me about 30 min to make mine

well i have a bog hog longtail and its no go devil or mud buddy but extremely affordable and reliable.. i actually just ordered parts from them last week and they got here within 4 days, not bad. and as far as them goin out of business the guy actually told me that they were in the process of opening a new shop up in missouri i believe

just get a cold rolled round bar. stainless is better, but not absolutely necessary. get your length set and tell the machine shop where to cut threads and keyway in it.
get your bushing and seals from mcmaster.com and get a DOM seamless tubing to match it all. get your prop from ron hill and motor from whereever you please.
