I just recently purchased a Harbor freight 11 hp Honda clone for a smoking deal. I will most likely order the eBay mud motor plans but before I did I was trying to see some other 11hp motors. I have found a lot of home-built LT's with 6.5 but not so many 11 hp's. Whats your opinion on the the 11hp LT compared to the 6.5 or 9 or 13hp's. Also I would like prop recommendations for an 11hp. Thanks |

Thanks I would love to see what you have. I haven't bit the bullet on the plans yet I think I will probably do it without them. What size prop are you running? |

holpefully the video will work, it was done with a phone and for some reason my phone doesnt pick up sound though.. im runnin an 8x4 and the only major problem i got left now is that my seals are just sittin inside the shaft, the bottom one stays in by the prop and the top one held in by a ziptie. i need to put caps on each end of the shaft to keep the seals in place. and i sont have a bearing at the top, wish i would have done that, but i dont think its absolutely necessary now, but u defionitely need to have one since u starting fresh. the fuel bowl nut drips gas when the engine is off, havent looked much into it and not sure if it does it runnin or not, thats the only problem ive had so far. it started in the first pull straight out of the box. no priming, nothing. |

i think i got the whole thing from tractor supply. all the bushings and seals cam e from mcmaster.com which is a GREAT place to check out. they pricey but have things that can be hard to find. i also found later that home depot has some brinze bushings. |

jus kiddin. i havent run it that much yet, i think i remember reading something about the engine not starting when it has plenty of oil. they bypassed the shutoff and it started right away. if it ever happens ill just bypass it too, you should ALWAYS be keepin an eye on oil anyway |

Have you guys tried out that 11 hp honda clone (greyhound) on your home built. Does the engine do ok? Let me know because I might start building some. I checked and Harbor Freight only listed a 6.5 hp Greyhound. |

I'm looking at building a frame for a couple motors that I can use, anywhere from 6 - 9 hp. Does anyone have some plans or ideas on how to get the frame set up as well as the shaft to motor setup. I'm running an outboard right now and am tired of getting tangled up in hydrilla everytime i run it. |
