ok i have a 18 ft by 3 and a half feet wide the boat is really light and i also have a 9 hp vanguard that is just a shaft i have to get it fabbed is that gonna b enough motor im not tryna run thru straight mud but would like the boat to go at least 35 mph is this possible with maybe a 15 i worked the oil spill and we had 14 ft welded boats alot wider than mine with 5.5 longtails and they did about 10 so shld i try and find a 15 or 20 hp lawn tractor engine or what any ideas my funds are verrry limited and also what is my motor i have now worth i see what ebay asks for em |

Dude you ain't gonna get 35 mph out of anything but an outboard. If speed is an issue no mud motor for you, especially a long tail. |

If that pd runs 42, ill shit a golden harp. And I highly doubt that 14 with a 5.5 was doin 10 mph I have a 13 hp on a 1442 all welded and with two people and gear all I get is 11. |

You can forget runnin 35 mph. Is that 18 a horizontal or vertical? with the 18 on that boat you may see 16-17 tops by yourself. |

I'm not worried about your boat. I want to see this Pro Drive rig that runs 42. All I'm saying is that I'll buy the gas and the beer for this ride. And a handheld GPS so I can see it for myself. |

Man the only way that PD runs 42mph is on a phucking trailor.....You damn sure not even getting close to 42 in the drank or slop. Looks like you need to be more worried about looking for new tires more then you need to be looking for a motor. Good luck with the 35mph with a LT you let me know when you build this beast...... |

Thats what the beer and gas was for! Anything more than that and you can forget it. I'm not going to pay to watch a boat run. And if your "buddy" actually has a PD that runs 42, he would want to show it off. I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on this right now. |
