So we are down to the nitty gritty of design ideas before we begin the build and have come to the cavitation plate...
The guy who built the motor said the hardest part he had was adjusting the cavitation plate, he said he had to weld it up go run the thing then go home, cut it off and weld it back on at a different angle. (see red cav plate in picture) He has access to a welder at his house and im not so fortunate.
Anyways, I was wondering if I could weld on the actual plate it self at a set angle (such as level or so) to the shaft housing and then take a piece of strap or angle and bolt it to the end of the plate and bend it for the push needed to keep the prop in the water? (see green/blue cav plate in picture) Would this setup work? I realize i will have to play with the angle of the cavitation plate, but If i could bend the end while the plate stays the same vs cutting and re-welding that would be amazing!
