Dude I think it's sweet just because nobody else has it. Get a cover. I'm thinking about painting my stock exhaust pipe fire engine red just for the hell of it. I need a cover anyway. I mean, fuk it, ya know?

Is that a Chicago Electric? -that brand that Harbor Freight sells? I have heard they are pretty good motors but I have zero experience with them.

its a roller bearing with the inner race extending out for 2 set screws into the shaft and then on the outside of the bearing is a c clip

Post subject:  Re: Pictures of My New Longtail

So that whole larger piece on the end of your shaft is all one piece. Just a bearing. Could you enlighten me some more. And where can i pick one of those up at? Is that what you have down bottom too?
If you have any more pics showing the detail of ur bearing setup that would be awesome

Post subject:  Re: Pictures of My New Longtail

the larger upper piece is just the bearing housing its pressed on to the shaft housing it has a slot for a grease seal and room for the bearing to fit in il take better pics in the mornig i got a buddy who owns a welding metal shop turned em for me the bottom is the same setup with a outer housing but i got a needle bearing in the bottom

Is your buddy interested in making a bunch of those bearing housings and selling them? I'd be interested in 2-3 sets if the price was reasonable.

I don't know about you guys but that looks identical to a Mud Buddy frame to me. Bearing housings and all! There is one just like it for sale on the mud motors for sale forum.

Where did you order shaft and bearing parts from? I'm doing the exact same thing to my longtail right now. I've got the frame built and the engine running great. Anything specific you think I should know?
