24 hp beavertail speeds on 1646 legandcraft

 24 hp beavertail speeds on 1646 legandcraftI have an all welded 1644 legandcraft with a 24 hp Honda beavertail LT . I am only getting 15 mph with 2 people on the boat. It is a tall transom, I am assuming that might have some thing to do with it. If any one has any experience or ideas please let me know.

Re: 24 hp beavertail speeds on 1646 legandcraft Also forgot to add that the prop is very worn and has a knife edge on it and I will be putting a bigger 9x6 on there soon; currently has a 9x5 I think

Re: 24 hp beavertail speeds on 1646 legandcraft my uncle had a 24 beavertail on a 16x48 custom hull,we never checked it with a gps but it was no speed demon. It was a tall transom hull and the motor was ordered to match the hull. When you replace the prop you should see a difference. Before I cut the transom I'd look into what that motor was setup for.
