not questioning that they know but i would find it hard to beleive that they would say try grinding the cup out and if that doesnt work send it back but hey maybe if he told them what he had andwhat it was going on you sure would think they would have set him up with the one he needed

I think Hill was just trying to get him on the water quicker. Takes a while to ship to Cali and then back again.

yes it was clean water. they did tell me to grind it down. going to send it back. isnt the prop balanced? grinding it down is just a good way to ruin the seals and bushings.

I got a 9x6 prop from hill a few years ago with too much cup. I took an angle grinder and worked on it. After 3 trips to the lake, I had enough ground off and it running good. Not real hard to do. A 30 minute job at worst.

any vibration problems?

Nope. This was on a 27 gdlt. Just worked on side of the prop and measured it and did the same to the other side. Very unscientific, but the original prop ran 16.7. After the grind, it ran 19.8.

Guess Hill figures most people are mechanically inclined enough to use a grinder. Hell for the price of a slow devil prop you can by two Hill props.

this never was about hill it was about getting what you order but hey you want it to be about hill i guess and if i ordered id be sending it back for the reason of i ordered a prop cause they said it was what i needed not cause they said this will work after you grinde it thats no kind of company id like to deal with in my book

Hassle, sounds like you got educated. Next time go with a Hill7x4 cupped. the cup adds 1 pitch, so a 7x4 cupped will also bite better in mud.

I know just messing with you, Hill props do work good, just takes a little knowledge of them to get one that works.

I put a hill marine prop on my MM and its been a fantastic addition to my boat. I picked up nearly 8 mph top end when I replaced my old prop with a hill prop. I think he does great work. sorry to hear you had a problem with one of his props.

Meant compared to Godevil noncupped 7x5 versues Hill 7x4 cupped.
