Post subject: | Dry Bushings |
So i went into my local parts store to order the bearings for my project motor that im building. The guys said that he has dry bushings in stock that should work. They go in a manual transmission but fit the 3/4 drive shaft. What are your thoughts on these has anyone used them or is it just a waste of time? If these bushings are a no go should i go with sealed bearings? I should include im building a 16 hp longtail with the duromax motor. Thanks, Bobby |

I would guess he was referring to bronze bushings. Thats what I used on mine. They were only like three bucks a piece. |

specgoos, did you have to put a grease insert on it or did you just run them dry? |

On my top bearing I have a sealed 1 5/8 X 3/4 sealed bearing in a housing. In the middle I have a 2 inch bronze bushing that I am able to grease, whether its needed or not I dont know. The bottom one I have never greased and doesnt get hot when ran in or out of water, you got to think if its in the water its not going to get all that hot. |
