I currently have a 6.5 hp lt, that I built, but its too small for my current boat. I found a 16hp vanguard today that I think I can pick up for next to nothing. Actually found a few of them, vertical and horizontal shafts. Thinking about removing the 6.5 and putting the 16 on. Since I built the LT, I know I'll have to cut the mount off and make a new one. It will be going on a 1648, just during duck season. I don't run stumps, weeds or thick mud...just shallow water (boat will float, just can't run the outboard). So during duck season, take the ob off and put the lt on. Thoughts? p.s. I could care less about speed....if I can get where I want to go, I'll be happy. Also don't want a jack plate |

Go for it. We have one at work and it runs about 15-16 with two guys if I remember correctly. |
