I just moved to the Baton Rouge area from Kansas for a pipeline job that will last for the next few years. Figured while I was here i would try to make a few hunts. Long story short, guys at work said I would need a Go Devil. So i bought a used 9 HP off of Craigslist. I know a littla about them but don't have much stick time. Guy I bought it from said it had been sitting up for two years. I would like to have someone go over the motor and take a look at things like bearings, seals, carb, etc. I know the Go Devil place is south of BR. Is that my best bet or are there other places in the area that work on these things? Just trying to not get ripped off. On a separate note if someone would let me tag alng on a few hunts I will gladly put you on some turkeys in the spring. Thanks for any help in advance! Can I run my go devil in the big lakes under I-10 by LSU? |

Pro power on airline might help you out. Look into hunting sherburne it's not far from BR. They have a few WMA's in the area you just gotta scout and get there early |

So looks like Boat Dr or Go Devil are the only gigs in town? Got a guy at work that's gonna take me down to the "spill way" to ride this weekend just to show me and the wife some swamp land. |

Warren coco can be a duck sometimes but he will stand behind his work. You may pay a little more but you are paying the guy who brought the longtail to America to fix you up. I would pay a little more for the knowledge. Are you having problems with it or just want a tune up |

Update... Dropped my motor off on a Friday and it was ready and picked up on the following Tuesday morning! Everyone was super helpful and knowledgeable. Had fun looking at all of the different types of boats in the parking lot. Now if I can just find time to do some scouting I'll be set! Thanks again guys for all of the help and recommendations. |
