i am curious as to what my 23 go devil should be putting out as far as rpms? right now with 2 people in my 14' xpress it is normally around 3570 at top speed. this seems a bit low to me but the motor runs fine and has never had an issue. any quick ways to get more rpms out of a motor like mine? |

I am almost sure there are many posts on this subject-use the seach function. I am also relatively new to here but you can gain rpm's by adjusting the throttle. I have set my 27 Kohler longtail motor to 4150 rpms out of the water; this translates to around 3800 in the water under load. If you are getting 3570 in the water under load this is not too far from max. I know some are skeptical but I have noticed better performance after using synthetic oil and grease. Must be a reason the mfg.'s recommend synthetic after initial motor break in. |
