Post subject:  Homemade longtial?- U-joint

Building a longtail and need help with the u-joint. My motor shaft is 5/8 and my drive shaft is ¾. Both have 3/16 keyways. Transom is 16 inches and drive shaft is 72”. I’ve been trying to research u-joints on other builds but I can’t figure this last part out. Can someone give me advice on a part or model number? Thanks for the help.

I think you are needing the yoke sizes. Napa and tractor supply also carry these. you can mix the shaft diameter sizes as long as they accept the same size u-joint.

They have a mix and match set, you pick your shaft sizes and they sell you both yokes and a joint for $25
