runs awesome out of the water...only reaching rpms from 2900-3000 no matter the load in the boat....talked to gd and it wont plane until 3400-3500 i cant seem to get the rpms needed they say that a 1448 should plane easy....what could be the problem...i cleaned the carb and checked fuel....what else needs to be done?

What size prop you running? Make sure there isn't anything that can drag under your hull.

it came with an off-brand 8x4....i took that off and put the old one back on....ran alot smoother and quicker but its woren about a quarter inch....
