 Adjusting captivation plate
I need some guidance on adjusting the captivation plate above the prop. I never had to do this in our 35 long tail but I need to for the 7 I just bought. The engine is running to deep. How much should I bend it?

 Re: Adjusting captivation plate
Cavitation........... Given all the variables with hulls and weights, your just going to have to work with it.

 Re: Adjusting captivation plate
If it running too deep it can be bent down ever so slightly. It doesnt take much. To get a uniform bend i put a 1/2"*6" metal plate flush with edge then use a cresent wrench to bend it. This just keeps the cavatation plate from getting larger indentions in it at the spot where the wrench is.

 Adjusting captivation plate
Sorry about the mispelling, stupid iPhone autocorrected. As for the boat. It doesn't matter the load it still runs low, even on plane

 Re: Adjusting captivation plate
i cant get mine to plane...have to replace the floor from wood to alluminum but just take a crescent wrench and bend the end of it down a little a run it....only go an 1/8th inch at a time...its more trial and error

 Re: Adjusting captivation plate
Just bend it down till the prop blows out, then bend it up just enough to keep it from blowing out.
