 Re: longtail mods
Not to deter your modification wishes, but I was told and understand that since their is no gear reduction on the longtail (the exception is MB's proposed SLT), any increases in rpm would be countered by the inability to turn a bigger prop. I am thinking that by tweaking the throttle you can gain a few hundred rpm and gain 1-3 mph but then you reach a plateau of diminishing returns. I'm not sure a SS muffler would gain much, though air flow is better. I've improved performance by the throttle tweak and using synthetic oil and grease. Personally I have wanted to try some type of engine mounts to reduce vibration. I'd like to hear of any real gains via mods for LT's.

 Re: longtail mods
Sure, you won't be able to turn the prop that much faster, but you will be able to turn it the same rpm with a heavier load. And notice a jump in low end and throttle response.
