I had the same rig before, boat was welded. No speed demon. If I remember correctly, 15-17 empty with just me 200lbs. 2 guys, loaded with hunting gear 12-14. If more weight or third guy, plowing water maybe 10. Make sure to get your wieght distrubuted right. |

be happy with 17 by yourself, less with a load. |

Probably looking at the 15-17 yourself 13-15 with a load. Send us what speeds you're running if you got it already. Educate the forum as I'm sure a lot more people will be looking for this info on similair rigs in the future... |

ran it for the first time tonight.....running a 9x7 prop and seemed to move pretty good with 2 people blind dog toolbox and 2 5 gallon buckets of crappie o and fishing poles....i have a heavy ass wooden floor and some extra weight im wanting to get rid of but ill post speeds tomorrow as i will run the river with it.....it turned out to be a crawfish model 16hp upgraded to a 23.....seems to have tons of torque |

Definitely get rid of the wooden floor and invest in an alum sheet, I used .090, and I put some closed cell insulation under it and between the ribs for a snug and quiet/insulated fit and finish. It weighs considerably less and won't rot. I also moved the battery up front under the bow (left the gas in the back) for better weight distribution. Another good investment is to steelflex the bottom of the hull. If you have the foam precleaner around the air filter, remove that. Go synthetic with both oil and grease. If you have not done so, as was indicated in the previous post, tweak your throttle to around 4200 rpm out of the water. |
