Post 23 lt longtail cut the tiller handle bar
hey guys im running a 14x48 with a 23 hp mb and my question is has anyone cut the handle down to run the new billet throttle control if so is it harder to steer and to lift out the water....also i need exhaust and a carb kit...air filter etc.. im wanting to make some serious upgrades and run them sd boys out on the river for some $$$

Lt will never be as fast as a service drive. Sd has gear reduction so it can turn a bigger prop and push more h2o. Lt is straight from engine so only thing you can do is increase rpms which decreases engine life

yes, cutting down the handle will increase tiller torque.

give up on outrunning sd motors. not happening

YEAH I KNOW I CANT OUT RUN EM BUT I STILL WANT A BAD A$$ MOTOR LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES LOL...I JUST DONT LIKE THE THROTTLE CABLE I GOT AND WANT TO BUT THE ONE THAT U CAN PUT ON A SD BUT MB SAID I WOULD HAVE TO CUT MY HANDLE BAR DOWN

You can take a stock plastic throttle lever and ream it out with a dremel tool and make it work on the lt. I did it for a customer and he loved it.

are you talking about the stainless throttle lever on mudbuddy's website? i dont see why you'd have to cut the handle for anything, unless if you REEEAAALLLYY wanted to have some kind of shorter throttle cable, which is just dumb.. dont shorten you handle, its a longtail..

yeah i called mb to get the original and they dont have one so he told me i would ave to cut my handle down and could sell me the stainless lever and a shorter cable i reallly like the one i got cause its like having cruise control lol.....i agree it would be dumb cause it is like holding on to a bull dozer....any suggestions on a web site i can purchase a universal type cable and lever
