Ok so i have a 27hp beavertail and the cav plate is about 4 inches above the top of the prop which seems like its way to steep. When im up on plane runnin wot it seems like the prop is way to deep in the water. beavertail told me i can use the red bumpstop to keep the motor from riding to low in the water. I know that people say that i can bend the tabs but i dont see how that will fix the steep angle of the plate. I want to cut the support bracket under the cavitation plate and bend the plate down and reweld it but will it really work or not? |

Longtail props are made to run sub surface, when running on plain the cav plate should be running flush with the surface of the water. |

Its not though its prolly 6 inches under tge water i tgink my model is for a 20 inch transom honstly. |

Adjust your bump stop and tweak your cav plate a little at a time till its running right. How long is your drive shaft 74"? If it's longer like 85ish then it's for a tall transom. |

Beavertail longtails are for short transoms, but the guy before you might have the trim set for a tall. U should just be able to adjust the red ball until it rides where u want to. |

We have had to adjust the tab before on them. Bending it down lifts prop up, don't go ape shit on bending it. Do a 1/4" at a time till it rides right. |

Yea. Bend the the back tab UP A LITTLE at a time til the cav plate is even with or just under the surface of the water. |

You need to bend it DOWN on the trailing edge. Bending it up makes it go deeper |
