I posted this query in the boats & blinds section but received no responses. Since I own an LT I figured maybe fellow owners might help. I am redoing my alum floor, meaning replacing the worn carpetting with hydroturf. I did the bow deck as a test piece and that stuff is really good and held up this hunting season. I am replacing the hard polystyrene insulation that I put under the floor and between the ribs- this has become brittle and I suspect has absorbed a little water. I have read about something Owens Corning makes called Foamulator- a sheet of closed cell insulation foam that some claim is good for this type of installation. Has anybody used this under the floor or elsewhere and can you recommend this or any other similar product? Even though it does not get too cold here in Florida, I wanted something to provide some measure of insulation and to quiet the floor for fishing and such. I have looked at the local Lowe's and HD but have not found any. I welcome and info and suggestions. |

Sorry, the material from Owens Corning is called Foamular. I still can't find it locally. |

Gladesranger , use the dow equivalent. it is called dow blue board polystyrene, you can get it at any whitecap construction supply and there is one in miami and pompano. 2" x4x8 is standard. lots of guys use it around here for your application. |

I had some closed cell insulation from lowes under the plywood floors in my boat before weight became an issue playing the mm game, I don't know how much additional floatation it added but it made it alot quieter |
