Post First run with the mud buddy
Finally got to take my boat out today and all I can say is DAMN!! Nothing stops these motors I went places today that an outboard could only dream of going. I just have to get used to driving this thing I ran it aground twice today trying to take a corner too fast but it's all good I love this motor!! In open water just me a fuel tank and battery my gps on my phone said 17mph I don't know how accurate that is but it was as fast as I want to go standing with no grab bar.

It's a 20hp Honda on a 15x44 weld craft.

They are fun! Make sure you wear your kill switch lanyard and keep your feet apart comfortably balanced. I had a 25 HP on my 1544 alumaweld square jon back in 2K and I tweaked the throttle and I was doing 22.3 mph by myself and that was pure joy!

Yeah the way I drove today I would be a complete idiot not to wear my kill switch. :)

get a grab bar made asap. if you get in trouble, push the handle down. no death grip on the handle or a stump will dislocate your shoulder.

Yeah I need to make a grab bar for sure. Took my 2 boys 8 & 10 for a quick ride after school and they loved it!!! They were amazed at where we could go.

Tex79 - you've got the same setup as I do - Speeds are the same too.

Thanks for the pics yesterday - get your grab bar set up and go have some fun.

I've had a mini bar always stocked since my 18 HP GD back in '89, and always grabbed from that.
