 Painting a Mud Motor
I recently picked up a 7hp Stump Jumper long tail to push my marsh skiff. The engine comes straight from the factory and is obviously not camo. I would like to paint both the frame and the engine but I am not sure about where paint can and can't go (especially on the engine.) Also if anyone has any preference as to what type of paint to use I am all ears.

 Re: Painting a Mud Motor
Just remove your engine cover and just paint the cover.

 Re: Painting a Mud Motor
tape off the carb after removing the breather. tape off the throttle/choke likage. remove the muffler and tape off exhaust ports. paint everything not removed or taped.

 Re: Painting a Mud Motor
You can dip it yourself, but you'd need the supplies to do it. They sell kits all over the place and there is instructions several places on how to do swirl dipping yourself without a kit if you don't care about having a specific pattern.

 Re: Painting a Mud Motor
I want to say salty dog on here posted instructions either here or on bowfishing country. Looks like it would take a little practice, but really cheap and not too hard once you figure it out.

 Re: Painting a Mud Motor
ive never used one of the diy kits but i would def recomend practicing on other stuff before doing anything you didnt want to fuck up. i had to do the main motor cover on mine 3 times to get the film not to pixlate. its such an odd shape it took some trial and error
