 First LT....questions
Found a LT for sale that I couldn't pass up. Seller claims its a GDLT powered by a Honda 9HP. Not exactly sure if those details were true but the motor runs great and the prop seemed almost new and for the price I paid...well basically I paid for the prop and got the rest for free.
I would like to add the remote throttle linkage to it and I need to add a kill switch. I also need to order some GD grease, that is, if this thing is even a GD frame. The previous owner spray painted the whole damn thing and I can't find the stamped SN so I can call GD and talk to them about the throttle, grease order, etc...
So my questions are (for now...) based on what you see here, is this even a GD? It doesn't have a U-Joint, but I don't know if its just because its an older model... If it is a GD, where would I look for the SN? Would it be visible through the spraypaint?
Next question...I must install a kill switch. I used the search function so I know where to get it. The guy I got the motor from showed me this boot thats in-line with the on/off switch on the motor. He said if he plugs the wires into the boot, it kills the motor. I assume I would just wire in the kill switch into the boot?
Thanks a ton.
Andy

 Re: First LT....questions
im gonna say not a GD. at least not like the 9hp i had. scrape some paint off the front of the engine, if its red under it its a honda, if its blue, black or yellow its a clone. as far as the other stuff goes you can get grease at any auto parts store and rig up a throttle out of a bike brake.

 Re: First LT....questions
10-4.
#2 waterproof grease from NAPA, along with a kill switch and some springs for the throttle linkage.
Any thoughts on that wiring setup? With a pull start, there is not much risk of me frying anything with an incorrect wiring setup is there?

 Re: First LT....questions
because they were the first, go devil is sometimes used in the generic sense to include all longtails, like kleenex or bandaid is for tissues or bandages. that is NOT a go devil.
