So I searched the forum a bit and saw a few different answers.. I broke the shaft in my mudbuddy 24hp longtail, and I happen to have a buddy who works at a machine shop and offered to make a replacement for me. Is 4140 heat treated steel what I'm looking for? If not what do you guys suggest? Thanks, Jim. |

4140 stainless is what mudbuddy uses. not sure about heat treating, or to what hardness. seems like I remember Rockwell 36 to 38. call mudbuddy and ask, they'll answer your question. |
