I thought about it a couple years back, then realized I was wasting my time. There just isnt enough power in a trolling motor to do what it needs to do.

Something I have always wanted to try though is a LT with a golf cart engine on it.

Are you Loutre Bottom Boy as in Bayou De Loutre up above Farmerville?

My first boat was a 9' pond prowler alot like an otter, it had a 30lb Minn Kota on it.
I used to hunt alot of small loggy creeks and grassy sloughs... I took the all the tilt stuff out of it where it could free float up and down over logs and stuff. Raise the prop up to where it breaks the surface of the water and it will pretty well stay weedless.

You can run in as much water as the boat drafts like this, maybe a lil less if the mud is soft. But it will never compare to a real MM.

Sure am.

And I'll try that b4 I tear into it. The only bad thing is tryin to control it from that far up the boat since the transom is so far behind the seat

I did a tiller extension with a peice of 1" PVC pipe if I remeber correctly.

take the rubber off the handle and cut a couple of slits in the pipe, should slide right up there snug.
