 Re: Aluminum long tail
I have an aluminum frame that seems to be working fine, although I only have a thirteen on it now but would consider it strong enough for a larger engine. Also if you run in salt water aluminum could be a bit of a plus and it is very light which makes it nice for a small jon boat.

 Aluminum long tail
I bought an aluminum longtail with a 23hp b&s and with in the first few months it broke three times, and that was during the summer in open water. I fixed it each time and after the third break I took the motor off and brought it to go devil and let them put it on a galvanized frame. No more problems.
