The first toy on the block was Go Devil and I had three of them, an 18 HP and two 25's. They make a dang good product. In 2004, I purchased a 27 HP MudBuddy. The only things I have done to date on it are change the oil and filter, plugs, fuel lines, and replaced the original prop because I hit coral rock and the prop got sheared. I have found the MB requiring less maintenance- the GD's required more seal/bearing changes, the lower ones I replaced which was not too difficult; the top one I took to an authorized repair place. I also have found the MB roller bearing system a bit better, less grease loss, less friction, and so I think for the money, the current MB prices are good. I say try them all if you can. I am pleased by BackH2O's entry into the LT market. Their prices are also good and I would go that route if I were in the market.

I have had my mudbuddy longtail for a couple seasons now and have no complaints. But like mentioned above, if buying new test every one you can. Also don't overlook backwaterinc. They have been getting a lot of good reviews.
