Placed an order for a MB 35 cdi Super Longtail yesterday. Thnx to Boat Dr. for the help. Expect to receive it sometime in August, I'll try to slap it on a hull then and post some speeds. I'm building my own hull, 1848 x 0.125, but it won't be ready by then. Hoped to have it done for teal season, but not gonna happen. stay tuned. any request for certain parameters you guys are interested in particularly when I test it? |

just curious how well it handles, and how well it does in the mud... good luck with the motor and the build.. I think it weighs in around 225lbs, but that's just a guess |

Congratulations! I am eager to hear any independent marsh reports on the SLT. Seem like the new paradigm shift for an LT. I looked on the MB site and I don't see the 27 or 23 mentioned as next in line for the new format. I am also looking down the road for an 1848 hull, perhaps in .100 to keep the weight down. I understand it uses a 10" prop? In lieu of that 1848, what are you going to put it on? I have a 1648 at present and wondering if the 35 is too much for that hull. All the best! |

the website change reflects current production capabilities. MB owner's wife became ill and passed away, and demand for the new surface drive with reverse has them swamped. those two events caused them to push back the 23 and 27 SLT till spring. they will still be offered as far as I know. I have a buddy who has a 1640 bateau I can test it on. Hope to have my hull done for NOV. the motor weighs 225. there are only 24 SLT frames available for this year, and I fortunately will be getting one of them. |

My condolences to ***** at MB. No doubt that affected those SLT plans. I also noticed the Generac 33 was offered for a short time. Any feedback on that motor? Close to the 35, a bit lighter weight. I have no idea about their performance or reliability. Man, I bet that 1640 will fly (in LT terms). Down the road, wondering also what the idle rpms on that SLT 35 will be; if you tweak the throttle after break-in if that will bump up the speed any? I make some occasional 7 mile one way runs with my LT and sometimes it can get tiring, wondering in big water and cross-current, both adverse factors for LT's, if the steering/drivability will be any better? Believe me, had I the $, I would have ordered one also- it sounds and looks like a winner! |

don't know about the Generac. from all reports I've heard, everyone has been pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to drive compared to what they were expecting. I may lengthen the handle 6 to 12 inches as well. the wait will be interminable. I'm hoping the 23 frame comes out next spring so I can upgrade an existing 23lt with only 50 hrs on it. The boat I'm building is going to have boxes on each side the length of the hull, and a few accessories, so I'm not looking for a speed demon. if it will push 1 person and a hunting load 24mph, I'll be ecstatic. |

10-4 on that speed. Whenever I am by myself and hitting 20 mph it is ecstatic. ![]() |

I like my 27 LT. I drove a 35 once and it was noticeably more of a "bear". When you run in the skinny with a hard bottom, all the weight becomes a liability, so I figure if the 35 SLT is as smooth as they describe, a 27 will also be, and say, 45# less. The other question is the larger prop (10-11??"). That inch or so more of submerged prop may be the difference in those situations. Anyway, looking forward to indawoods' report! |
