First post...First duck rig..I have been reading and watching these boards for a little while sucking up knowledge from ya'll.Thanks for the input! I picked up a used G3 1548 and got a new 23 Godevil LT and put on the back. Im 205lbs had 6 gals of fuel about 20 lbs assorted gear a 20 lb anchor and a small cooler with ice and drinks. getting 18.2 mph in open water. Been running her for a couple weeks now on the weekends and have about 8 hours on her. Shes no speed demon but moves nicely as I expected/ hoped it would. I'm really looking fwd to the up comming hunting season to get her broke in right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOyt97OmC5g |

You should be proud and excited. LT's are not built for speed but accessability, economy of maintenance, paradigm of KISS (keep it simple, you know). After break-in, you can tweak the throttle advance and realize some cheap speed gain and then switch to synthetic oil/grease. My best advice: get plenty of tiller time, wear your pfd and kill switch lanyard (make sure that works), balance your load, leave a float plan. Above all, have fun! ![]() |
