I've got one! I think it's the coolest thing ever! I have went everywhere with this thing. But this is the first mud motor I've ever owned so I don't know anything about what other brands are about... I've got the honda GX660 motor on a 14 v bottom and I can go in about 4-5 inches of water it's not very fast but sure will get you in some shallow water |

They are great in rock and sand bottom rivers, not so great in mud and weeds or for speed. I own one and i like it for where i use it |

Love em. I run a 13 honda on a 16 48 and with 2 guys I can get it to plan. My hunting buddy had a 16 horse go devil on his rig sold it because my rig was crushing his. Not for speed, but for getting threw mudd. I also love that its belt driven, saves the motor from getting beat to snot. Only 2 draw backs are the prop design. In heavy mudd the motor wants to dig instead of push some times and you have to fight the prop up, other thing is they come with the motor running half throttle. I have my 13 running as fast as that motor will go at full throttle, may be hard on the motor, but if it blows my wife says I can get a surface drive. |

Hmmm, lets see, motor facing backwards, exhaust towards the operator, pull start away from the operator, V belts, and a welded steel prop....By no means and Engineering marvel. Spend your money on a traditional style longtail, as long as it is not a Bog Hog. Mag10 |

They have sorrected most of this, muffler on new motors is away from the driver, electric start on my 2009 is on the front, and my buddy has a brand new motor and they moved choke to the front as well. They are very good motors, if you don't like them that's fine, but for the price you can't beat them |

My buddy has had one for 3 years now and really likes it. He just got a new style prop for it and it gave him an extra 4-5mph loaded. He says the only thing he would change is the handle, if you have a blind on your boat that big loop handle can get in the way. |
