 Key way
I bought a beaver tail long shaft and I took it out for a ride and seen that the key way slides up the shaft and hits the u-joint. I no that my shafts not sliding up and down so can anyone tell me how I can get this to stay in one place

yep, tack it, drill tap and put in a set screw, or use the loctitte green for slip fit, also make sure you are using an oversize key.
