 BENT SHAFT AGAIN
Started with cold roll steel, bent it, made one out stainless bent it today. Have 22 hp engine with 3/4 shaft and bearings top and bottom. Have brass washer in front of prop and nylon behind prop. Was running half throttle when I hit log. Any suggestions thanks

Pics needed. Sounds like you need to either beef up the structure or add support to the shaft.

The outer shaft is 1/4 inch steel tubing. I keep bending the 3/4 inch prop shaft.

where is it bending? shorten the gap between yur prop and shaft housing.

I have a 3/4 inch nut, a 1/16 inch brass washer and a 1/16 inch trush washer between prop and bearing housing.

Stop hitting logs?
Put 1 nut and 1 washer above the prop to the bearing.
Keep the distance from that nut to the bearing housing less than an inch distance.
Should do the trick.
