I've been running a homemade 16 hp longtail without a cavitation plate for a few months now and while never having driven one with a plate I feel like it would makemy life much easier. Unfortunately I do not have access to a welder or anyone that can weld as it is an aluminum frame. I have looked into shops and for the 150+ dollars the have all quoted me I will keep on driving without one. Heres the question, can any of ya'll think of a way to fabricate/install a cav plate without welding? I can't but thought I'd ask the masses before I just threw the idea out. |

Is it those crappy tai longtail kits???? If so get rid of that unit and build a housing out of dom tubing. That way you can make any style cav plate you want. You wont get very much life out of that aluminum one. |

It's a 16hp aluminum frame home built that appears to be a beavertail style frame. I've got some cracks from vibration and might just get it put on when I take it in. Is there that much of a difference when running with one? I've just never run a longtail with one. |
