Post subject: | Replacing a GoDevil shaft |
I have a 2000 kohler decided to replace the shaft. Ive taken the prop off and the nut assembly off unscrewed the set bolts on the lower yoke. Now how do i get the upper and lower housing assemblies off to install the new top bearing and replace the bushings and do i just beat the shit out of the prop till the shaft starts the move and then take the shaft key out. Pictures or videos would be helpful because i cant find anything useful on the internet. |

That would be about right. Hit the backside of the prop and the shaft will eventually work its way out of the yoke. Might want to try to put a flat head screwdriver in the slot of the yoke to loosen it up some. The new shaft goes in the same way, beat it. |

Make sure to replace upper an lower seals, I did this an only replaced lower and it wouldn't keep grease for no longer than 5 minutes in the autoluber. |
