I ve got an old hombuilt longtail that needs a prop. It was built with a straight shaft no threads. Trying to find a prop with a tapered smooth bore. I called the people at back h20 and hill and hopkns and said I should just put a new shaft with threads on. I agree but running out of time. The old prop is brass or bronze. Thanks, Bob |

Call the sail boat people, its probably a small brass wheel off of something in their world and not an actual mud motor prop. The best fix is to get a shaft made up real quick. Shouldnt take a machine shop more than an hour or two to thread and cut keyways on a new shaft. You could look at the aluminum props for the thai longtail kits on ebay. They use a tapered shaft. |

This should be an end all, get or make a new shaft, 3/4 x 10 threads buy a stainless prop from any company be it hill, backh2o, Hopkin s, they are all good, and be done with it. Don't dick around with cheap props and different designs that are shown to fail, it will just cause more headaches and $ in the long run. |
