I'm new to mud motors and have just bought a GD 23hp LT. I have run the new motor about 2 hours then greased it. I thought that I applied a small amount of grease but now I have a small amount of grease coming from the Upper Bearing. Is this normal or did I screw up? |

Wipe it up. Read your owners manual on how much grease to use. Doubt you did any damage. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have a GDLT and I grease that fitting until a little comes out all the time. I thought it was designed like that. Thats how I've been greasing similiar fittings like that for years. When you hit the other fitting with the reservior, I make sure that I don't overfill it. Seems like GD manual says NOT to fill that one until it comes out of the cup. I've also noticed that I rarely need more that a shot or two from the grease gun to get that one where I want it. I try to keep it around 3/4 full in the cup at all times. |

If the seal is installed correctly it is oriented so that grease is not locked in and will flow out. |
