 Build your own?
For those that have or know how to build there own long shaft... How does one go about this? It must be cheaper? I would be looking under or right around 20hp. Is there a kit that can be bought from a manufacturer that you can just do the assembly on? I appreciate the input.

 Re: Build your own?
Call Back Water Inc and ask them about their Glider Kits. They are making the best long tails out right now.

 Re: Build your own?
Unless you are a confident fabricator I wouldn't waste your time. They look simple but dialling in the angles but for the head aches involved the kits I'd say are worth it. Use the search or scroll back down in the long tail talk this subject gets covered regularly. Bog hog also do a kitset, And welcome to Mmt

Why sends a FB message as a primary way of contacting someone?

 Re: Build your own?
I just bought a motor from PPF and it rocks. The thing is very well designed. Some say copied but who doesnt? Look at GT, MB, BT, BH, DMM they all copy and just make it a little different. The only one that hasnt so far is PD and they're second rate, unless you just have to have fpr then it is king but oh so fugly...It's the carp of mms but it's tough.
You can get a kit from PPF for about a grand.

 Re: Build your own?
tinman454 ---> Step 1: find someone who has a longtail near you. Step 2 : measure & copy it ... and build your own using it as a pattern.

 Re: Build your own?
I like the ppf but it is only 7 hp so of no value to anyone in more than a sneak boat alone.
