I have a friend with a 27 hp lt on 1448 mv alumacraft and it works just fine. It has pods on the back to help with flotation though. Without pods, it would damn heavy in the back I would think... |

Id say go for it if you got a shot at it, I run a 16hp on a 1436 80's tin can and it does pretty good but i wouldn't hesitate to go for the 23hp. If you feel like you need to you can weld a couple of knee braces from the transom down to the floor to help stiffen your transom up. |

best bet get you a copperhead 18hp they only weigh about 140 pounds and they are verry impressive. but ur budy is bound to loose a transom u dont wana take that risk |

I have a 27hp Mud buddy on a 14' Xpress allwelded works just fine. I would definitly not put it on a rivited boat. |
