what rpms should i be turning with a 16hp godevil lt?? in water and out??
what can be done to gain a few if i need to?

The Briggs dealer told me that 3600 was a safe RPM. You can turn more but
thats what the motor is rated for and thats what they recommend. Oh, that is in the water RPM. As far as out of water, I dont have a clue.

thanks, im puting a tach on mine this weekend to find out where im at rpm wise, just trying to wee where i am and what i can do with it

Thats good information I did not know that. My 16hp GD doesnt really like to push past 3400 rpms when its in water, which means I'll have to do some tweaking now to get it higher.

Mine would turn about 3680 with just me and 6 gallons of gas. One more person and an ice chest it would turn about 3450. That was a 23 hp on a 1836 charles leonard skiff.
