 Twin 23 gf
Been thinking about going to twin 23 set up. Running shallow water with ahard btm. Never really messed with a long tail just mostly gatortails. Would this situation be ideal for a set of 23's or a single motor would be better...

 Re: Twin 23 gf
I really can't imagine a situation where twin longtails would be a benefit. If there was, they'd still make them.

 Re: Twin 23 gf
I've always wanted to do twin 10hp for 10hp restricted areas but I think ole green jeans would have something to say about that.
Why not go with a 35?

 Re: Twin 23 gf
I would like to try that one time, but from reports you would be better off using a single motor, say a 27 or 35 HP longtail. I, too, run shallow hard bottom areas and the longtail is preferable and the 27 gives me enough of a workout but it does the job. I believe Frank on here runs a 23 BW on a 1648 WE hull and is happy. The 23 does come with a recoil start so that is a big plus if your battery craps out. If you want to push 3 hunters and gear, the 35 is probably the way to go.
