long tail prop sizes and brands?
need to get a new prop for my mb 25hp kohler lt. just curious on any really good or really bad prop brands. I seems that they all recommend 9x6 for that motor, if it is correct which brand is best. and im curious about the pros and cons of changing the prop size (even tho it runs decent) and how it effects it running. all help is greatly appreciated.

Re: long tail prop sizes and brands?
If MB still sells their "Tiger" LT props, that is a good product. I sheared my second prop from them and bought a Ron Hill 9x6 which is really sound, shows very little wear. I have a BackH20 prop as backup that is also good but runs 1 mph slower. I started with GoDevil and they make good solid props as well- had one a few seasons ago but eventually wore out. Though the 27 HP MB LT I run is rated for 9x7 for most mfg.'s, I run better with a 9x6. A lot depends on elevation and conditions you run in. I've asked about the bb blades (Wisconsin) on this site but have not had any feedback on those. You might ask local LT owners what they are using. I may have gotten lucky with the Hill prop that I bought off ebay- was about half price of most including shipping! There have been some negative reviews on some of their props but mine is like new after three seasons. Whatever you get, I recommend using antiseize grease on the shaft threads to keep it from binding and you should remove it at least once a season to avoid bad binding issues.

I bought the 9x6 backh2o prop and noticed I lost some top end as well. Like it's been stated it seems like a good solid prop, especially for the price. I think after I wear it out I'm going back with a go devil prop with heavy cup to try and pick up my lost top end.

Re: long tail prop sizes and brands?
I like the 9x7 GD prop better when I had my long tail. It would run 21 with my GD 23 on a 1548. Changed to 9x6 tiger prop and lost two mph.

Re: long tail prop sizes and brands?
You need a 9x6. The godevil prop is a good prop. 9x7 will be a little too much for you with a load. Allowing the motor to turn up in rpm assures your getting all of your horseower and give you better load carrying.

Re: long tail prop sizes and brands?
to be honest im not really worried about the price ya saving some money would be awesome. but in return wat I want is wat everyone wants the longest lasting prop that will give me the best whole shot and load carrying abilty well and speed but im not too worried about that because I didn't realize that my prop was that wore until I read some of the speeds on here. also I do need to know wat props will work on my mudbuddy. so some opinions related to tiger, godevil and backwater props is wat I need and the price not having any affect on the opinio

Well you won't be able to get a go devil prop without a serial number for one of their motors so you can throw that one out.
