 23 hp vanny power loss
Losing power when we put the prop in the water. Runs fine outside the water. The motor is falling on its' face when the prop hits the water.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

Also, check your spark plugs, foul 1 and it runs fine unloaded, but won't take a load...

If it had been making "popping sounds" with severe loss of power, do a leak down test, and you will find it is probably one of the coils...went bad. Better replace both of em when you do.

Might also want to check on your cavitation plate, if mounted too steep the load applied will sometimes cause the motor to die out. Kinda like killing out a lawn mower by running it through real thick grass too quickly.

Could be low on oil...I had this problem, and it was the oil level on my dip stik was wrong. I added oil, and that fixed my vacuum.
