Ugh!! Have water somehow getting into my shaft housing 23 HP vanguard GD no play in the prop so I assume the bushing is good.

Lower seals being bad is about the only way that's possible.... Unless you have somehow mounted your motor to the bottom of the boat instead of the top lol

Clean the grass from in between the nut and seal housing after every trip. That shit dries out like rope and eats seals.

FYI, old style is two seals back to back. New style is two seals back to back and a scraper seal. Scraper seal is closest to the prop and the side with writing faces the engine.

Thank you all! I believe it is a newer style. I could more than likely get the grease seals from Napa? I would just order them from GD but I need to get this resolved this weekend.,

You may find something that will get you by, but I believe the ones from GD are a proprietary design that's manufactured for them.

In addition to Kibb...How do you store your motor? If you store it outside and uncovered, you could have water intrusion from the top near the universal joint. Unlikely, but I would check to rule it out.
