Lower seals being bad is about the only way that's possible.... Unless you have somehow mounted your motor to the bottom of the boat instead of the top lol |

Clean the grass from in between the nut and seal housing after every trip. That shit dries out like rope and eats seals. |

Is it a grease seal or an oil seal? |

Grease seal |

FYI, old style is two seals back to back. New style is two seals back to back and a scraper seal. Scraper seal is closest to the prop and the side with writing faces the engine. |

Thank you all! I believe it is a newer style. I could more than likely get the grease seals from Napa? I would just order them from GD but I need to get this resolved this weekend., |

You may find something that will get you by, but I believe the ones from GD are a proprietary design that's manufactured for them. |

In addition to Kibb...How do you store your motor? If you store it outside and uncovered, you could have water intrusion from the top near the universal joint. Unlikely, but I would check to rule it out. |
