Anyone ever hit something so hard they bent their skeg. Was looking over my motor today and I noticed the skeg was slightly bent to the right if your standing behind the boat. I did hit something pretty hard at near full throttle over the weekend. Was enough to pretty much rip the handle from my hand. Not the first time ive hit something though. Anything to worry about? Didn't notice the boat pulling either way the rest of the weekend or not the ride home but it was loaded real good. Can't decide if I want to let it ride and see if I notice a difference or try and bend it back with a large crescent wrench. |

I would leave it If you can't tell any difference. If it's not affecting performance. |

If you hit something hard enough to do that, you probably broke a lot more stuff. I'd try to sell it before it falls apart completely. |

You do know it comes bent from the factory. If it bent that much you'd feel it in the tiller. |

No noticeable difference in performance. Nothing else looks broken. Ran fine the rest of the weekend. Ran probably another 5+ hrs before trailering it up to go home. It's an hour long ride back to the ramp from the camp. |

I got something hooked in the prop tore the skeg clean off damn near threw me out of the boat . Got me back to the ramp though. It was really squirrelly didn't track straight got it home welded new skeg on runs fine now. Didn't tear anything else up ran rest of the season just fine. |

I've never seen a longtail with a skeg that wasnt bent. They're like that to help them run without fighting you due to the prop torque. Take your crescent and bend it straight and notice the difference (make sure and bend it back after your done lol). I bet you didn't hurt at all. Those things take a beating and keep going. If you don't notice any vibration or rattling that wasnt there before, and it runs fine, it prob is fine. |

My skeg is all bent to hell after all the stump hits I've had. Cracked it once and welded it up, never missed a lick |

Skeg is fine guys. Just never noticed it before. Hasn't effected performance at all. I did put a crack in the cav plate though. Gonna have to get that welded up though. |
