Hello, I have never bought a mud motor before and I am debating on two different units. I need some input. The first one is a 2004 25 hp mud buddy kohler for 1500.00 The second one is a 2001 27 hp Kwa. mud motor for 2000.00. which is the better deal here. I have a16' 72" beam boat would either of these work or do I need bigger. Thanks for any help |

I would get the 25hp for $1500 if it is in decent condition. I have a 20HP on a 16' x 6' beam Jon and it runs really well with 3 guys in it with dog, dcoys and everything else... about 12mph and 17 mph with just me. |

Hey thank you for the help. I went and looked at the 25 hp go-devil today and it seems to be it good condition. It comes with a new prop, which is a bonus. I think in my opinion, go devil makes a stronger built unit then compared to a mud buddy. Oh one thing I didn't know about was, this go-devil does not come with the swivel for boat storage or traveling, is this necessary to have? Thanks for the help |
