What do the bottoms look like, are they both ribbed , second what do you hunt. , what are you loads. , that's what I'd think about .

Re: If they were the same price..
Both flat bottom. I like the war eagle due to the front v, still with flat bottom. I'm not hitting stump or too thick of mud, mainly vegetation which is why I'm using a longtail. Both are 14', 42" wide, 15" transom. Alumacraft is .063" and war eagle is .080" hull, both rated 25mph, war eagle is 280lb and alumacraft is 130lb. I guess I'm really trying to see if one is better for running a longtail? I've got a 9hp but want something more like 16hp for two guys and a dog.

Are they both riveted? I'd go with the thicker aluminum if those are your only choices.

Re: If they were the same price..
Both riveted, I just want an open hull , no bench, so those are two inexpensive models. I just hear a lot of bad stuff about war eagle and mud motors.. is that true or what?

Re: If they were the same price..
I have a war eagle hull as well , it is a well built boat for what I use it for. .

Re: If they were the same price..
Hang a 23 on it. Not much difference in weight between 16 & 23.

Re: If they were the same price..
Yeah I believe 542 war eagle is 15'. I'd rather have the longer boat but yeah they're not great with mud motors.

Re: If they were the same price..
Not to say it won't work, just not as well as a true mud hull.
