Post Last day of season a motor got fukd
Man I have been having bad luck. This morning I was pulling the boat out of a steep canal. The river intersected a road that I was parked on the side of which left the truck leaning into a ditch. A little dicey but doable. The canal had a 10 foot drop off that was steep. I told the old man to get in my truck and back up. I told him I was going to hook the anchor from the winch on the trailer and he would pull it out of the canal. As soon as he gave it gas the back of my truck slid down the ditch and we were stuck. 2 minutes later a kid in a pickup came down the road. I flagged him down and asked if he wanted to make $50 the hard way  . He agreed. So I hook up to his bumper and he pulls me out. The old man was watching to make sure everything is going alright outside. I get out of the truck, thank the kid and look back at a nightmare. The boat must have been angled down stream when we pulled out because of the current because it was completely flipped upside down with motor completely submerged. The old man had no idea because he was worried about the truck sliding down and hitting some trees. I am on pavement so the only thought that went threw my mind was get that fukn motor out of the water fast. So I pulled the boat out the rest of the way(about 20 foot) upside down. Lost a couple mojos. Some decoys and weights and very close to 2 benellis. Got the boat hooked up and did a damage report. I thought not to bad. A sheared off grab bar, lost 2 oar locks, air cleaner and cover and tore the blind to pieces. I swiveled the motor to lock it down and then the water came pouring. The muffler was completely filled. Freaking out I raced home, drained the oil, got 10 gallons of kerosene and started my little pickling project. I would pickle then drive down a bumpy road then drain the kerosene. 5 times. Then put the oil in ran it for 10 minutes. Drained the oil filled with new ran it for 20 minutes. Repeated 5 times. Motor is purring like a kitten so I covered it up until next season. I am glad this season is over.
