Post subject: | 9x7 prop on 16hp lt? |
Im looking at buying a new prop for my 16 hp gdlt. Ive been on the website and see that gd recommends a 9x3. However, it seems that most people at our camp go with the 9x7 for this size motor. I like the fact that if I put a 23 on this frame I wouldn't have to buy another prop. Is there any forseeable problems that I would run across with the 16 and the larger prop? What size would you guys suggest? |

16 doesn't have enough ass to turn that prop. they don't recommend specific prop sizes just for shits and giggles.how heavy is your boat? I've run a couple different pitch props on mine and might be able to point you in the right direction |

No speed and no RPM most likely... One step in pitch doesn't sound like much but it makes a huge difference! I'd get the right prop for it unless you are running it on an inflatable canoe or something stupid light |
