I dont know if it would really be worth modding a long tail. I mean, ya got 25hp so you cant expect a whole lot more than what ya got. You can spend a bunch of money to get another mph, is it really worth it?

I'm comtemplating something similar now.

I have a 31 longtail on a 18x60 boat. By myself and no load I can get 19-20. With my usual load, I run around 17.6. Would like to be around 20 with a load and 24 without.

I already have a BPS muffler with a k&n filter. These 2 things increased my speed by 1-1.5mph.

Thinking about dropping $700 on the Mikuni carb. Would be a cheaper fix than selling my motor for $2000 tops and then spending another $3000 on a 35 longtail.

:x :x :x :x :x :?: :?: :?: :?:

BTW a 15x46 is not a good combination with a longtail. You need more length. You would probably run the same speed or more with a 18' boat. Go-Devils fastest boat with a 25 longtail was the 18x38.

Maybe try to pickup a 31 of 35 longtail for $2000. Sell yours for $1200. You'll get alot going up 10hp.

I've owned a 16, 25 and 27 godevil.

I now have a 31. Its a whole nother motor. Alot of torque.

My buddy is running a 35 on a 16x48 go devil boat and he and 1 other person was running 24mph on the gps this week.
